Transcription Plus has been providing accurate transcripts since 1991. Kathy saw a niche for a local transcription business that offered quality transcripts at competitive prices. Transcription Plus began as a medical transcription service that served the healthcare field. Within the first two years, Transcription Plus added general transcription services to its repertoire. These services include video production, business, insurance, and sermon transcription.
Over the years, Transcription Plus has developed long-term relationships with several clients in Indiana. Indeed many of these clients have been customers for 10 or more years. Kathy's original mission of offering quality transcripts at competitive prices has never wavered. Contact us today to see how your organization can receive accurate transcripts.

Transcription Plus is HIPAA-compliant. We have several security measures in place to ensure your data is secure. We encrypt the files on our computer with 256-bit encryption, the same level of encryption used by NASA, the FBI, and the Department of Defense.
All files transmitted occur through our secure FTP (SFTP) server. To ensure privacy, requests to connect to our FTP server through regular, unencrypted file transfer protocol will be rerouted to our secure file transfer protocol. As a client, you will receive an SFTP account on our server. You will have access to a unique directory that you, and no one else, can use. You will not be able to see other directories on our server, and other clients will not be able to see your directory. We can easily provide you with a test account to see a demonstration of our system.
Our phone-in digital dictation system uses integrated data systems to protect patient data security. Encryption of data and voice during transmission ensures that security is never compromised.
To read more about our security, please go to our Security Page.
Transcription Plus works with sensitive patient records every day. We go above and beyond current HIPAA requirements. For example, most transcription services offer 128-bit encryption. Transcription Plus secures its documents with 256-bit encryption.
We will never transfer your transcripts over e-mail unless you say so. E-mail is inherently unsecure. Transcription Plus offers a secure FTP (SFTP) account to its clients at no charge. Your SFTP account gives you a secure method to upload your audio and retrieve your transcripts. All data transmitted are encrypted automatically. Furthermore, each client has a unique directory they have access to. You will not be able to see other clients’ directories, nor will they be able to see yours. If you would like a demonstration of our system, we’d be happy to set you up with a test account.
We understand the delicate nature of all our clients’ documents. This includes clients with audio of contract negotiations, boardroom meetings, company presentations, and medical records. With Transcription Plus, your audio is safe.
When understood, a local transcription service can offer many benefits. These include:
Yes. We require that our transcriptionists have a minimum of three years of experience. For example, a medical transcriptionist must have at least three years of experience with medical transcription. Most of our transcriptionists have been with us for many years. More than 75% of our transcriptionists have 10+ years of experience.
Transcription Plus does not waste money on expensive marketing campaigns or swanky downtown office buildings. These and other obvious, but effective management practices ensure that our costs are competitive with national transcription services. We try to do one thing, and do it well: accurate transcripts at affordable prices.
